Welcome to the Chicagoland Language Project!
The Chicagoland Language Project is a Linguistics research project led by Dr. Sharese King at the University of Chicago and Dr. Annette D’Onofrio at Northwestern University.
The UChicago Team is researching the diversity of language and life on Chicago’s South side. We want to hear about Chicago in Chicagoans’ own words, learning their stories and perspectives, while also documenting the variation in speech styles across the city.
We are currently interviewing residents from the Bronzeville area (Douglas, Grand Boulevard, Hyde Park) in the Summer of 2022. This is a compensated opportunity. For Bronzeville residents interested in participating or learning more, fill out our form and we will reach out to you shortly!
